Convenient location, clean and safe

Every staff person I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Loved the views and location. Wished there was more room to walk in the living room when the pull out sofa was open.

Great location, modern conveniences, and excellent staff

Because the key card needs to be in the slot to have any lights or AC working, the room was always extremely hot when we returned from shopping or being out and about during the day. Also, the hard decorative pillows were dirty in room 2302. The woman working at the front desk who assisted me (Diana) asked if we wanted a room facing the entrance and we said yes, but then we found we were facing the wrong side once we got to the room which was extremely disappointing. The room was also registered under my father’s name instead of mine, even though he was signed in as the second guest in my stay. Due to the mix up, I am worried my points will not count towards my stay on the Riu Hotels side of things. Besides that, the elevator was a mess and took forever to get up and down so we had to be sure to time leaving in advance and checking out to get downstairs in time.

I did not like being provided a wheelchair accessible room when it was not requested. I did not like how my platinum American Express card $100 credit was not honored. The cocktails at the rooftop and the service at the rooftop bar was poor. Overall, a disappointing stay after having numerous great prior experiences at the hotel. I now will have to find a new “go to “ hotel in NYC in the same great vicinity.
